Donald Day Endowed Scholarship

1.) Half the annual distributions of the Fund provides scholarship support for MC students and half the annual distributions of the Fund provides scholarship support for Montgomery College students who transfer to a 4-year program in order to complete their bachelor’s degree. 2)The MC scholarship supports students majoring in physics, engineering, or mathematics who have completed at least 15 credits at Montgomery College and have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Scholarship recipients may have no more than one repeated course, must have completed satisfactorily or be currently enrolled in the first calculus course for engineers, and must attempt the first course in techniques of reading and writing prior to or during their first year of scholarship support. 3)The transfer scholarship supports students who were physics, engineering, or mathematics majors at MC and who are transferring to a 4-year accredited institution where they will be pursuing a baccalaureate degree in physics, engineering, or mathematics. 4)For both the MC scholarships and the transfer scholarships, no preference will be given to any citizenship or visa status. Special consideration will be given to women and minorities. The scholarship awards will be based on the demonstrated financial need of each student, but they will cover at least 25% of the cost of the tuition, fees, and books at the institution where the student is enrolled. All scholarship awards are renewable through the baccalaureate degree based on satisfactory grades and progress in major.
