Jonathan Diehl

Jonathan Diehl

Jonathan Diehl was born in Miami, Florida to a Spanish mother and an American father on October 21, 1990. He grew up in Bethesda, Maryland and graduated in 2016 with a Degree in Construction Management from Montgomery College. His interest in construction and the trades followed a family tradition on both sides of the Atlantic. He had his share of disappointments but left a legacy of love and light. His love started with family but extended to many friends and acquaintances. His friendships knew no boundaries as he built ties, in English and in Spanish, with people of all ethnicities, old and young, simple and sophisticated, outgoing and quiet. He celebrated the successes of others as if they were his own. He was a great cook, loved local sports teams, and was proud of his family and his heritage. His enthusiasm was infectious, he was a great storyteller, and his smile filled the room. He died on June 13, 2019 at the age of 28.

Montgomery College provided Jonathan an education and support despite academic challenges. The family hopes that this scholarship will help others overcome financial limitations to pursue a career in construction management, and ultimately share their unique gifts as widely as possible.
