Julian Madison Pendleton
Julian was born on July 23, 1981 and was raised and spent most of his life in Montgomery County, Maryland. He loved sports and played baseball, basketball, and football. He also loved music and played the saxophone throughout high school. Julian was such a bright light to so many and truly lived life to the fullest. He graduated from Albert Einstein High School and was attending Montgomery College when he passed in February of 2005 at the age of 23. MC was a really good fit for his higher education needs, and he truly valued the education he was receiving.
Both of Julian’s parents taught in various GED programs in their professional careers and saw the dedication and perseverance of their students who so passionately wanted to get their high school diplomas. They both knew the importance of education, and the doors that could open once one completed their high school requirements. It was decided that a wonderful and lasting way to honor Julian would be to financially support students who had dreams of continuing their education beyond their GED. It was also a way to say thank you to such a wonderful community college that provides exceptional and high-quality education to students who may not otherwise get to experience college.
So, we honor and remember our son each time a new student, who has worked hard and persevered to get his or her GED, is a recipient of his legacy. Study hard and keep working towards your dreams. You are amazing and will make the world a better place. Remember to pass on your blessings.
