Molly Caitlin Counihan Endowed Transfer Scholarship

Molly Caitlin Counihan Endowed Transfer Scholarship

My youngest daughter, Molly, graduated from Towson State in May of 2005 and took a position in September as a special education teacher in the Howard County Public Schools. Molly graduated from high school in Montgomery County and went on to complete her AA at Montgomery College before transferring to Towson University at the University’s at Shady Grove to complete her teaching degree. Molly was a single parent with a three-year-old daughter, Tegan. She juggled a rigorous schedule of work, school, and parenting in order to fulfill her dream of becoming a special education teacher.

In late December, Molly became ill and was admitted to Holy Cross Hospital. She died at the hospital three days after she was admitted.

This scholarship was created in Molly’s memory to assist Montgomery College transfer students who enroll in the Towson’s Special Education program at the USG.
