Mary Pat and Darren Alcus ACES Pathway Champions Scholarship
Supports students who meet the criteria below and will be renewable for up to three years until completion of his/her Associates Degree. The remaining scholarship funds will be awarded as a transfer scholarship over two-three years, provided that the student is enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program housed on the Universities at Shady Grove Campus. Qualifications are:
1. First year participant in ACES program at Montgomery College and intends to earn an associate’s degree within two-three years
2. Demonstrates Financial Need
3. Plans to transfer immediately to BA/BS degree program offered at the Universities at Shady Grove to be completed in the next two years and remain in good academic standing
4. GPA of 2.5 or greater
5. Dream Act or DACA students are eligible
If a scholarship recipient elects to withdraw from the ACES program or if he/she transfers to a program not housed at the USG campus, then the student forfeits their future scholarship awards. In addition to the scholarship, the sudent may receive a modest annual book stipend, and an average of two noncredit developmental classes. ACES Pathways Champion Scholars qualify for support for summer and winter term classes at both MC and USG, if they choose to take classes that are part of their ACES degree program track. ACES Pathways Champion Scholars may use scholarship funds to repeat any course once, if needed.
